The Excelsior Band Preservation is dedicated to preserving the history of The Excelsior Band and ensuring its future. The Jazz Studio is the programmatic arm of The Excelsior Band Preservation, providing jazz education, exposure, and experiences to Greater Mobile area students, 6th-12th grades, in a year-round bi-weekly program on Saturday mornings at Spring Hill College.
Since 1883, the Excelsior Band has inspired generations and broken barriers through music. Today, we honor that legacy while keeping jazz alive and accessible, creating opportunities for people to learn, grow, and connect for generations to come.
